ORGANISERS of a funfair that has become a popular annual event in Newton Aycliffe are looking for a local charity to support.
Carnival Funfairs will be making its fourth visit to the town next month with a week-long stay in the Iron Horse pub car park.
The cash raised last year went to help Ann Teasdale, 42, of Newton Aycliffe, who had a leg amputated after contracting Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome.
She faced the possibility of losing her other leg until an appeal in her home town raised £30,000 to send her to the US for revolutionary treatment.
Paul Evans of Carnival Funfairs said: "It just went so well last year, so if there's a local charity who thinks they could benefit from our help this year we'd be up for it."
The funfair arrives on Friday, March 19 and will be open from 6pm daily and 2pm at the weekend, until Saturday, March 27.
Anyone who knows of a local cause worth supporting should call Paul Evans on 07836 350507.
